Ok I like the idea that he was in the army or something maybe X-SAS or if you like Delta force but SAS are much better, (no offence to you American people).

ive never really thought about a man drinking coffee ( I
coffee ) get attacked in the middle of a store. I would accept that if you could make this guy former military and people already know about the monsters.

Nice idea with the picking up armor cause I would put him in a driving scenario
considering it was the plan to use a car somewhere in the story. I also like howon your first post you said they have our old guns we buried and we have new technology.

The player will be in a cafe and he is enjoying a nice cup of tea and a slice of cake then a monster comes out of the ground. At this point you have no means of killing the monster so you need to rush home and get your weapons and armour.
Then half way through killing these monsters the Aliens invade and make it twice as difficult.
That is my idea. Then maybe at the end it has like a Halo3 end where you get awarded the medals and have a funeral for the people that fought and died.

The year is 4023, weapons and technology are at their best.
Alien forces have been detected on the GPS.
Their technology is far more superior than yours and your Universe is under
a massive threat.
But an equally harmful threat lies below in the under world these monsters
are dumb and stupid. They have old weapons that you have burried under ground.
While you protect the planet from all of this, terrorism is rising once again.
They are making an army to invade civilisation.
It is your job to protect the planet.
